It’s Thursday and I’m already day dreaming of Friday. Can I get a heck ya on that one!? Okay, now that we’ve got that out of the way I was reading another interesting article on SpendMatters.com about yet another acquisition / merger in the ERP world. This time it’s between Proactis and Perfect Commerce, but what really stood out to me was the steady pace of these types of acquisitions and perhaps more specifically, why. The “why” is growth. Growth in terms of the adoption of SaaS model ERP solutions by more and more buying entities. We talk to our current and potential customers a lot about this growth, but here it is, “the proof in the pudding” and the pudding is that ERPs are consolidating / building in a growing market. P.S. I had to look up the etymology of “proof int he pudding”. Turns out it’s an abbreviated version of a 14th century colloquialism: “the proof of the pudding is in the eating” our commonly used abbreviated version only came into general use in the U.S, circa 1950. I know, I know I’m a nerd. TGIAF folks!
